Nelshael Homepage 23Mar08 | 3
I removed the old nelshael’s gallery because after the last update of “gallery2″ it was impossible to log-in and manage my files. I had waited for 5 months for a tech support and now I decided to put all the webcomic, all the illustrations into this new wonderfull gallery for wordpress. Its name is NextGEN Gallery.
.. by the way! We have a new homepage for our beloved webcomic. I provide two zip with the full comic and an album with illustrations, sketches and yonkomas. This is the right place for Nelshael. Rest in peace! ![]()
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes 22Dec07 | 6
Nelshael.com changes its design and contents. From today it will be no longer the webcomic’s website rather than the personal portfolio of Ophelia. I will talk no more only about the comic’s development and related topics but about my work and my passion.
I need to do this hard change because Eleish doesn’t find the time and the inspiration to end the webcomic and I can’t draw only about that.
I know a lot of you will be disappointed but I hope somebody will be faithfull and follow my creative path. I hope to add new readers, I’d like to have an exchange of ideas with you so I will try to submit speedpaintings, tutorials and vector freebies.
Thank you all for the patience
Nelshael.com cambia veste grafica e contenuti. Da oggi non sarà più il sito del webcomic Nelshael de immemori insula bensì il portfolio personale di Ophelia.
Non si parlerà solo dello sviluppo […]
extra 28Oct06 | 9
We’d finished the fourth Nelshael chapter and we felt the duty to offer you this little silly scene without interfering with the almost-serious atmosphere of the events.I found fascinating the man with the gown and feel sorry that in our society it is not used.
For this reason I have chosen dresses for Tristan and Jas but I’d like to point out that below them they wear trousers and boots.

The hardest thing is finding a name 18Aug06 | 0
The hardest thing is finding a name for the character. He takes shape in your
head, he moves and speaks, he shows his potentials and capabilities. You learn
to know him, to manage his personality, to imagine his reactions, to read his
mind… but you don’t know his bloody name! I don’t know about you, but as far
as I’m concerned I find it a real struggle… to give you a vague idea of the
trouble we went through, some of Nelshael’s characters have had, for months, names taken from space coordinates… it is true that the origin of names is extremely ancient; people at a certain stage got fed up with “normal” names, with the result of christening a lot of Italian babies with ridiculously silly names… Believe me: even finding a name for a fictional character is a real headache !
Yoon
has always been Yoon. We took the name from an artist of Korean origin, called Joon, who published some very nice drawings on a magazine..
Jas is named after Jasbinder Mann
, singer of Babylon Zoo… does anybody remember them? Anyway, it’s an adaptation of his real name (Giacomo), so there you go.
Irene used to be called… do you really need to know? Well, her name was Yeriki, but I cannot be held responsible for this ugliness (right, Leah?). Her name has been recently changed to Irene, but she did not suffer from this, especially because her peculiar characteristics are all concentrated on her breasts…
Kylieis a long story. Initially, Ophy decided to call her Kirie, from the title of a videoclip they were showing while she was
sketching the character. Later on she decided to be a little less mystical and settled for the better sounding Kilie, from that cute girl who sang "Where the wild roses grow" with Nick Cave. Yes, we are talking about Kilie Minogue. No, we do not like her music that much… anyway, Kylie is her middle name (her mum was a sucker for names taken from soaps and tv series), her first name is Barbara (her dad was less keen on tv names), but if you try to call her Barbie, she will chop your head off. With her teeth. So Kylie it is, then!

Differences 30May06 | 19
Some days ago I noticed that one of the readers confused Irene with Almea so I decided to show the differences with a sketch. The characters are really different and you’ll discover them keeping-on reading the webcomic.
They have the same height, Irene is more buxom and not only for her breast! She is long red wavy haired (shoulder length) and light-colour eyed. Almea’s hair is very long, black and curly. Unlike her bad-temper, her slim figure makes her cute like a doll;)
Personally I prefer Irene but also the dramatic figure of Almea will be very charming in the developpement of the story.
If you have any other doubts you can ask us here.
Qualche giorno fa ho notato che un lettore ha confuso Irene con Almea così ho deciso di mostrarvi le differenze con un disegno. Il carattere è molto diverso e lo scoprirete leggendo il fumetto. […]
