HOW TO COLOUR A SKETCH WITH A FEW STEPS
| [Introduction] this tutorial has no other pretensions, it shows how to colour in an easy way starting from a sketch. I hope to introduce to colouring those who are afraid to mess things up… try it out! [Suggestion]Photoshop CS, 300dpi file. I advise against the use of the mouse. |

To make it I use a simple brush with 100% hardness, reacting to the sensitivity of the graphic tablet. The important factor is spacing, which has to be set to minimum (1%)
(See the Options picture on the left) |

3]Basic colouring with grey tones I choose 3 greys for the skin (light, medium and dark), which I colour on a regular layer under the line art layer: with this arrangement, the sketch lines are always on top. The hair is coloured on a different layer using dark grey. |

4]coulors ! To colour the skin layer: Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation. Play with the values or copy them from my screenshot. (I suggest you keep a copy of the grey layer in case you change your mind) |

5] The skin I duplicate the layer of the coloured skin, selecting “multiply” for the layer fusion method. I join this layer, the one below and the one with the greys, merging them. (to merge them, right click with the mouse and select merge layers) |

| 6] The hair I use the same procedure as in step 4 |
7] lineart Pick from the scroll window the fusion method most suited for your drawing. In this case, I picked Colour Burn. |

8] Adding details 1 Eyes are important, I add some colour and light, not only in the iris, but in the eyeball too. Then I select that area and pick Blur in the Filters, blurring until everything is homogeneous |

| 9] Adding details 2 To give some depth to the image, I draw some lighter coloured hair with a thin brush. With a darker shade I retouch a few locks on the lower side. I add a few lights and shadows on the face and body. At the end I blur it a little as I did with the eyes. |

10] conclusions Once the drawing is done, I add things such as the tattoo and the scar. For the background I just lay a gradient, then add the credits |
