Transforming bitmap into vector has always been a problem: softwares produced abomination filled with millions of points into paths. Never again!

Create a vector file from a picture draw has become easy thanks to two programs:
* Adobe Illustrator CS3 has a brand new LiveTrace with fully editable functions.
* Vector Magic s an online program created by J. Diebel and J.Norda from University of Stanfort that allows you to do everything via browser (supports Mozilla) and download the files in EPS, SVG and PNG.

Neither creates perfect files: both need to be corrected with Illustrator but are a valuable aid to the designer that has not much free time at work.

I came back from China!
Today I’m going back to my “vector/fashion” plan and I create this image with Illustrator CS3. Autumn tones and Asia are my inspirations. The girl I used for reference is the cousin of my boyfriend, JingJing. Thank you for your patience darling =*

Sono tornata da poco dalla Cina e finalmente dopo due giorni mi sono stati recapitati anche i miei preziosi bagagli (che ansia ragazzi!)
Oggi ho ripreso il progetto “Fashion and vector” creando con Illustrator questa immagine dai toni autunnali ed orientaleggianti. La ragazza che ho usato come referenza è JingJing (cugina del mio ragazzo) che ringrazio tantissimo per avermi sopportata negli acquisti infantili dell’ultimo anno. Ora cercherò di disintossicarmi da monokuro …

Come ho tentato di dire in inglese: oggi ho questi disegni da farvi vedere. C’entrano sempre meno con quello con cui vi ho abituati perchè non sono fantasy, è tutto allegramente vettoriale ma spero apprezziate lo stesso. Ho fatto il sitarello e questo concept grafico per il gruppo di mio fratello, i Clivius. Vi consiglio di ascoltarli anche dal vivo se abitate nei paraggi. Dite che li sto pubblicizzando troppo? è che mi piacciono!

for the next months you won’t read new pages of the comic because we have to renovate the first three chapters not masochism but for the future italian publication. (yay!) It’s a a good piece of news!!
During wich time I’ll use this website as a portfolio, I’ll submit works and personal experiments and I hope to exchange impressions with some graphic designer or illustrator.
This is an experiment mixing photography and vector art. Done by Illustrator cs3, I was inspired by some foreign illustrators. ( via )
